Sega has announced a game adaptation of Captain America, due in 2011 in conjunction with the feature film. Captain America: Super Soldier is currently being developed for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP.

The game will be a third-person action game featuring environments set in World War II. The story will revolve around Captain America facing his nemesis, Red Skull, within the castle turned Hydra base.

Sega claims the game will have a “highly athletic combat system with fluid platforming and a highly tuned suite of shield attacks,” and the shield will be used for “taking out multiple enemies at once, deflecting incoming fire back at enemies, solving puzzles, and scaling walls.”

Captain America is being developed at Next Level Games best know for Super Mario StrikersPunch-Out!! (Wii), and Spider-Man: Friend or Foe.
