According to IGN’s head of Nintendo channels, Rich George, Nintendo may be forcing Nintendo 3DS developers to stay quiet about their projects for the highly anticipated handheld. From Rick George’s Blog:
“3DS. Is about all I think about these days. I think you guys ought to expect a flood of information… late January 2011? I’m hearing Nintendo is keeping all developers/publishers at bay so… once there’s a green light… brace yourself.”
This information, if true, shouldn’t really surprise anyone. I think Nintendo would be wise in keeping developers quiet about the Nintendo 3DS until January at the earliest. I’m sure the general public doesn’t know much, if anything, about the Nintendo 3DS so why risk more news getting out there when it could negatively impact holiday sales for the current Nintendo DS. Just my two cents.
The Nintendo 3DS is scheduled for a Feburary 2011 release in Japan and a March 2011 release in North America and Europe.
