Crytek’s upcoming blockbuster, Crysis 2, has been leaked all over the web just about a month from the official release.  The leak includes the full Campaign, Multiplayer and the Master-keys to activate the product for online use.  The current build leaked online is late beta however, though the full game is basically there – it’s not the final or finished product.

EA had this to say on their official facebook page;

“Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites.  Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22.  Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion.  Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.”

In the modern age of gaming these things are often inevitable, but not a whole month before launch.  Our thoughts are with the guys at Crytek/EA, and we hope anyone who pirated the game burns in hell ya scurvy dogs!

  1. its a beta build but its pretty rough. lots of missing textures, placeholders, weird glitches.

    when this happened with Half Life 2 valve delayed the launch because of the piracy when actually it was obvious the game wasnt ready for market. I wonder if maybe crysis 2 got leaked so they can use the same excuse to push back the release while they figure out how to make that one guy’s head not be transluscent blue.

  2. So, EA doesn’t release a demo for PC, then one of their own employees leak a beta build, people jump all over it because they want a taste of this game that they have been looking forward to, and it’s the consumers fault?

    Honestly, all EA had to do was say; “Look guys, Tim from accounting leaked a beta build from a couple of months back. It’s not pretty and it is in no way the final product. In other news we are releasing the multi-player demo for PC today. Please have fun and buy our game when it comes out. A big thank you to our fans for your ongoing support.”

    Not; “Somehow a beta build mystically appeared on a torrent site and it can’t have happened unless some guy with an eyepatch stole it from us. We’re not going to talk about a PC demo ever coming out. And even if you didn’t download the beta your guilty because you play on a PC. This is all your fault PC gamers. All of it.”

    Not that I really care about this game, but EA needs to get better PR people.

  3. really, you people act like idiots you blame pc for this they can do just the same with an xbox but the first people you point fingers at is pc AND YET if its “leaked” why does it hurt you guys? did you download it and play it? no then why are you bitching you can wait till the full version and enjoy it no one said you hve to download it dont get me wrong i didn’t download nor do i want to, ive been playing the demo but why are you idiots bitching about it it dosn’t hurt you’re gaming soo? assuming most of you are bitching beacuse you can.
