Well, I’m sure everyone saw this coming.  The first lawsuit has been filed against Sony in the wake of the PSN “intrusion

A 36 year old Alabama Man by the name of Kristopher Johns is suing Sony for not taking “reasonable care to protect, encrypt, and secure the private and sensitive data of its users.” according to Cnet.

He also compounds upon the beliefs of Senator Richard Blumenthal that Sony took too long to notify him and other customers that their personal information had been compromised.   He states that Sony did not allow users “to make an informed decision as to whether to change credit card numbers, close the exposed accounts, check their credit reports, or take other mitigating actions.”

He is also seeking class action status for this suit.  So feel free to hop on board the bandwagon.

  1. Wow all you people who are gonna sue over this are little kids sure its not a good thing but its not really sonys fault but more yours for trusting them lets all grow up and stop being little kids and show sony support so xbox doesnt win blame the hackers or yourself leave sony alone they need support more then anything.

    • Your right ps3 is much better then the 360. Plus the 360 was hacked, downed, and a complete fail when it first came out. This is the first thing along that line that has happened to the psn. Plus the ps3 keeps adapting. The 360 just keeps getting fixed. The ps3 has so many features that the 360 is trying to add. On top of this the 360’s new advertising is almost all about the kinect or whatever that is. We just keep on using the ps3s original advertising with a few move commercials here and there. Rammble rammble, blah blah blah, i am pretty sure i should just stop anyways cause this comment will spark more. Plus i know what everyone will say “360 has more games!” really cause i had no clue but its not like half those games are SH!TY and have bad graphics.

  2. Ok first off this is stupid in general to even file this lawsuit. For one all the information that was stolen could be found in a free background check which anyone can access. (oh boohoo they found out where I live. Now I am gonna get spam mail oh noessss.) Second off no financial information or credit card information was leaked. Sony safeguarded this information cause shit you basically give out all that other information on a daily basis. I just am afraid that this backwards trailer trash is gonna win this lawsuit because Sony may have fucked themselves with their privacy policy.

And for everyone who is gonna say he doesn’t have to be trailer trash. Yes he does I have known people like this my whole life. I just can’t fathom why any reasonable well to do person would try and sue Sony unless they are 36 years old and have nothing to show for the past 18 years of their life.
