With the official release of Sony’s PS Vita and a few notable titles to boot, this is one week you won’t want to miss out on.

Although available last week for 3G variant bundle pre-order, this week marks the official release of Sony’s  (check to see if there is a Vita Midnight launch event near you), and with it comes a variety of games:  ,  ,  , Touch My Katamari and everything that released last week alongside the first edition bundle.

The biggest game release of the week is Starbreeze Studios’ reboot of .  Unlike the original which was a tactical shooter, Syndicate is a FPS that takes place in the year 2069, in a world no longer governed by politicians, but by regions controlled by corporations (or syndicates).  Syndicate releases this week on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Another interesting option this week tells the tale of a Demigod who seeks vengeance on the Gods that have wronged him.  Sounds like Kratos, but it’s .  Asura’s Wrath is an action/adventure beat ’em up collaboration between Capcom and CyberConnect 2, in which each chapter of the game plays out like an episode of an anime series.  You’ll find Asura’s Wrath in retail this week on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Pick of the Week: I played the original Syndicate on my SNES almost 20 years ago. Although it was considered among the weakest versions released, I had a damned good time playing it.  I’m definitely looking forward to the 2012 reboot – Syndicate.
