This is one that a few of us here at RipTen have our eyes on. Square Enix confirmed today that Heroes of Ruin, an action RPG for the Nintendo 3DS, will be arriving in North America on June 26, 2012.

Those of you headed to Boston this weekend for PAX East can take it for a spin at the Square Enix booth (#850). The game features online play, voice chat and drop in/drop out gameplay. The information we received also points to dynamically generated environments (similar to Champions of Norrath), meaning that each excursion into a dungeon will be different. We’ll see if Square Enix manages to avoid the cookie-cutter visual problem that tends to plague games with random environments.

This is shaping up to be a good year for Action RPG fans with Torchlight 2, Diablo III, Path of Exile, Warrior’s Lair (we hope), Borderlands 2 and Heroes of Ruin all making a play for our precious loot whoring time.
