Earlier we reported that mounted combat was coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in version 1.6.  To go along with that announcement I created a short  gameplay video based on the beta currently available on Steam.

However, I wanted to take it one step further.  How would mounted combat change the way you fight the mightiest of Skyrim’s foes?  How would mounted combat change the way you fight dragons?

As you can hopefully tell from my gameplay, mounted combat has added an entirely new element to the pursuit and demise of the Dovah.

However, between controlling my horse, controlling the camera and controlling my weapons – killing a dragon on horseback is much harder than it looks.

Luckily, it is immensely satifsying even in this rough pre-release state.

Stay tuned to RipTen for continued coverage of Skyrim and our hands on coverage of it’s upcoming Dawnguard expansion straight from E3 2012.
