Ubisoft first announced Far Cry 3 at E3 last year, and earlier today, they talked a little more about it. However, in what came as a bit of a surprise, (at least to me), Ubisoft showed off the game a little bit more at Sony‘s just-concluded keynote, and unveiled a detail they’d kept secret up until now: the game is to get four player co-op. The demo shown featured four Ubisoft employees fighting multiple groups of hostiles in order to plant and detonate an explosive, in order to collapse a bridge. It didn’t have quite the… flair that the earlier trailer did (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go look it up), but that the game will feature co-op is certainly a nice surprise. My only question: why Ubisoft decided to wait until Sony’s conference to announce it.
Oh, they also mentioned that there will be some PlayStation 3 exclusive DLC for Far Cry 3. And it will be free.
