Those of you who didn’t like BioWare’s ending to Mass Effect 3 might be interested in this nugget mined from the richest hope veins on the Internet. If you consider reddit a reliable source (hey, sometimes it is), then you might find a post made by user derptemp6698 interesting. Apparently, he’s uncovered the product description for the “Extended Cut DLC” for Mass Effect 3. According to the post, it reads:

An expanded ending for Mass Effect 3. Additional scenes and an extended epilogue reveal the impact of Shepard’s choices on the future of the galaxy.

Yeah…so that’s not very descriptive, but it’s something for us to get excited about! In addition, the user also posted the description for another DLC pack, titled simply Earth.

The fighting is fiercest when it’s your home at stake! Mass Effect 3™: Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!

The post seems to be pretty credible, considering this appears to be the same guy who leaked accurate info about the previous DLC, Rebellion. Of course, time will tell, as the DLC is scheduled to be released later this summer.

    • Thanks…thanks for that…had to watch that with my kids this week and knowing this rumor i was hearing “party in the Ipanema, baby”…

  1. Personally? Great, yes this is good. I don’t care what anyone says about ME3, sure the ending sucked balls but for me it was worth every penny (yes, even with the 10000+ bugs, photoshopped stock image and the limited Dialogue options). To be honest I’d say I would of had more fun on ME3 than on ME2 and ME1 if it weren’t for the horrible story breaking ending. Maybe there’s a chance this DLC will help me finally play the final installment in peace knowing I don’t accidently destroy the galaxy. Obviously a majority of the “fan” base will disagree, unfortunately I’ve seen the Ending hate turn into the “ME3 hate/ BioWare hate,” when they don’t really deserve it (though EA do).

As for Multiplayer DLC… Hooray I guess? I mean I’m not complaining, I’m still unlocking things in it and I’d like to fight in London (It would be like the riots… only with banshees XD joking jk lol) but the amount of free DLC is suspicious… is this to hide something going on, to try and shut us up and turn away from the ending? Is this because they think SP is a lost cause and want to focus on Multiplayer? Or is it simply because they want to apologise for the ending? Or… do they just love us? :D

    • We didn’t see another site credited. One of our writers discovered this on Reddit. Sorry that it’s old news, but it doesn’t seem to have been spread widely enough to have caught many sites’ attention.

        • You don’t seem to understand what crediting is. The origin of the source was a Reddit poster, not another website. We found it on Reddit. Therefore, it is proper protocol to cite the original source.

Clearly this was a bit older than we realized, but that does not mean that we don’t have a right (and a responsibility) to cover the information when it’s made available to us.

      • There are a lot of sites with this same info on it since a week or two ago.  In fact, a week ago my ME3 google news search was filled with sites saying the same thing.  Now it’s died down.  I’m afraid you’re on the tail end of this news.  Besides, this really doesn’t say anything about the extended cut that wasn’t already known.  It’s just advertising multiplayer DLC.  In my opinion the person on Reddit is a PR as what is said is pretty back-of-the-box descriptions.

  2. You know, this may be heresy and all, but I’ve seen worse endings in both games AND movies. Was it the greatest ending? No. Was it the worst? Also no. Has it been worth talking about and protesting for the past 3 months? Definiely Not.
