Yesterday, Joystiq spotted a GameStop listing for a Knights of the Old Republic PC bundle, which they confirmed with a GameStop store representative.

Amazon’s also recently listed the KOTOR I & II PC bundle, which the online retailer lists as releasing on July 17, 2012. Amazon’s product description for the PC bundle is vague:

Where It Begins – The KOTOR Collection includes both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic with over 40 Game of the Year Awards and the follow-up chapter, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: THE SITH LORDS. KOTOR – For a thousand generations the Jedi Knights have been guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. In the war between Jedi and Sith, you are charged with leading a group of freedom fighters on an epic journey across the stars. KOTORII – The Sith Lords have hunted the Jedi to the edge of extinction and are on the verge of crushing the Old Republic. With the Jedi Order in ruins, you, a lone Jedi, are the galaxies only hope.

Hm… doesn’t really give us much of a clue as to why a re-release is coming now. Well, other than the fact that there’s definitely rekindled interest with this year’s launch of The Old Republic. Time for a shameless money grab? Why not?

  1. Hell, I loved both games, in fact they are both my favorite RPGs from my childhood behind only Jade Empire. Looking forward to burning money on those!
