Since yesterday, players on nearly every forum across the World of Warcraft community started posting about how hackers have been attacking the main cities of Azeroth.  Few lived to tell the tale while others began to record and post videos of the train wreck up on YouTube.

Blizzard Community Manager, Nethaera, responded on the official forums saying that exploit has been hotfixed and shouldn’t be repeatable anytime soon.

It’s safe to continue playing and adventuring in major cities and elsewhere in Azeroth. As with any exploit, we are taking this disruptive action very seriously and conducting a thorough investigation.

Still, this attack is just one of a few that we’ve seen lately in WoW, for those of us who remember the security breach of back in August. Still, hack or not, it has been seen by many players as simply a practical joke despite the countless amount of angry tickets that were submitted to the GM’s. Take a look at a few player-made videos below to see the carnage firsthand.

  1. I played Wow many hours over the weekend, and saw no problems. Apparently this only affected PvP realms – which are heavily populated with 12-year-old boys (and with adults who suffer from the same mentality).
