If you haven’t been keeping up with Telltale Games‘ The Walking Dead episodic series, first of all, why not? The fantastic episodes have served as impressive examples of what this style of gaming can deliver. But if you have held off until all of the episodes are collected and happen to be a huge fan of the comic book series, GameStop may have the special edition for you.
Exclusive to the retailer, players can pick up a collector’s edition of the retail iteration of The Walking Dead: The Game on December 4 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For $69.99, fans can pick up the set, which includes a disc containing all five episodes, a collection of the first 48 issues of the comic book series entitled The Walking Dead: Compendium One with exclusive cover art and a collector’s edition box featuring artwork from the same artist as the cover, Charlie Adlard.
I personally would have loved to purchase this edition had I not already bought a season pass to download each episode. While the package is certainly an enticing one, chances are if you’re a fan of the series, you already own many of the comics or several episodes of the game. If you’re willing to repurchase some content, however, this seems like a great way to indulge in your love of zombies, or at least of bashing in their heads.
