There’s no doubt of the hype surrounding Assassin’s Creed III – we’ve had almost daily updates about the game’s content and promotions.  But if you have been wondering just how popular the conclusion of Desmond Miles’ adventure, Ubisoft has released information about the game’s pre-order success.  The numbers don’t lie – people are quite excited to dive into the Revolutionary War.

Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed III is the most pre-ordered title in the company’s history, besting the previous record holder, last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations by more than double that game’s number.

Tony Bartel, president of GameStop, mentioned that pre-orders for the title at the game retail chain are almost 100% higher than Revelations‘ pre-orders at the store.

Ubisoft is hoping to keep momentum for the title going well after launch, with a Season Pass for the game in anticipation of a hefty downloadable content slate.  DLC will be available at launch and beyond to expand both the single and multiplayer options, and, as we have reported previously, will include some intriguing takes on Revolutionary War-era figures.

However you choose to take advantage of one of Ubisoft’s biggest projects ever, don’t wait long before putting money down – the game releases next Tuesday, October 30 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
