The once THQ owned entity, Metro: Last Light, has received a May 14th release date in North America (May 17th in Europe) with their new publisher, Deep Silver (Koch Media).

In talking about the recently acquired title, Deep Silver International Commercial Manager, Menno van der Bil, said the following:

“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”

Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media, chimed in with his own comments, assuring gamers that the game will get “the attention it deserves,” adding the “new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary.”

Metro Last Light is a survival focused first person shooter that takes place in 2034 in a post-apocalyptic Moscow on the heals of a nuclear war. Suited up as Artyom, gamers will traverse tunnels beneath a decaying city while battling through mutant hordes in pursuit of a doomsday device that could be the key to victory. Metro Last Light will be available on Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and PC.
