Klei Entertainment has been on an upward trend in quality. While the first two Shank games were gorgeous, they fell prey to repetitive gameplay. Mark of the Ninja and Don’t Starve though manage to maintain the developer’s high quality animations while either redefining the genre (in the case of Mark of the Ninja) or executing upon a formula really well (as in the case of Don’t Stave). It’s for this reason I know that I’m personally excited at the announcement of their next game, Incognita.

Billed as a turn-based tactical espionage, studio co-founder Jamie Cheng spoke in an interview at Rock, Paper, Shotgun about how the game takes lessons from both Mark of the Ninja and Don’t Starve while riffing on the tactical genre as well. Other bits of important information: the game will use procedural generation and, like Don’t Starve, will have a public beta that will allow the game to evolve in accordance to player input.

While no release date has been given, the game will be coming to PC sometime.
